Happy Monday Everyone!

Hope each of you that read my blog are well today.  It is a balmy 12 degrees here this afternoon. We even got a little snow over the weekend and since it is so cold we still have it today.  Hotshot(our cat) is enjoying the sun coming through the arcadia doors this morning.  It is a beautiful but cold day.  It looks and smells like Christmas.
Today I would like to share a Santa book for the children and a cute movie for the older children.  I enjoyed both of them very much.

SHHHHH
by
Julie Sykes and Tim Warnes

It is Christmas Eve and Santa is getting ready for his big night.  He is singing loudly, "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, jingle all the way!" When the reindeers say," Santa Shhhh!. You mustn't wake the children."  Santa has all kinds of problems as he goes from house to house and the dog, the cat, and the reindeers all remind him to  "Shhhh!" "You mustn't wake the children."  The children will love this book and laugh out loud at the antics of clumsy, lovable Santa.  See who the little mouse tells to "Shhhh" at the end of the book.  It is a really cute book and young children will really enjoy it.  Share it with a young child this Christmas.

Hello everyone!
Just 20 days till Christmas!  Can you believe it?  I can't!  I love this time of year and sometimes wish it could last all year.  I do wish for the beauty and love all year that I see at Christmas.  I just finished making some Christmas and Birthday jars for friends.  I sure hope they will like them.  I sure did enjoy making them.  I have a really cute book to share with you today.  A great teacher friend gave it to me along with three other ones for Christmas a few years ago and I got them out every year to read to my students.  So this year I am sharing them with you.  I hope you enjoy them.

Hurry Santa
by
Julie Sykes and Tim Warnes

It is Christmas Eve and Santa has overslept.  "Hurry Santa!" says his little mouse.  "You shouldn't be late tonight!"  First Santa puts both feet into one pants leg, and then he can't find the reindeer.  The reindeer are out in the woods playing games.  Finally, Santa and the reindeer fly off to deliver the presents for all the good little boys and girls all over the world.  Then the reindeer have a problem landing and the sleigh gets stuck in the snow and Santa and  the reindeer can't get it out.  Along comes a big horse and tries to help Santa and the reindeer.  They pull and pull and finally get the sleigh out.  All the animals tell Santa he must hurry before the sun comes up on Christmas Day. Santa and the reindeer finish delivering all the gifts to the boys and girls and head home to the North Pole.  Santa gets out his pack and finds a present.  He thinks he forgot to deliver it to someone but the animals say it is for him from all the animals.  Can you guess what Santa's present is?  Check out the book and share it with a young boy or girl and see their face light up as you read this delightful story about Santa and his reindeer on Christmas Eve.

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I know I enjoyed the holiday with family and friends.  I can't believe though that there are only 22 days till Christmas.  I love this time of year so much.  Everyone is in good spirits and I love watching Christmas movies and reading good Christmas books.  I hope you will enjoy the one for today.  It is a good book for young children K-2 grade I would think.  A really cute story.  Please share it with a young child this Christmas season if you get a chance.

The Crunchy, Munchy Christmas Tree
by
Karen Gray Ruelle

Harry and Emily are looking for a tree to take to their grandparents' house for Christmas.  They finally find one that they think will work.  They get everything ready to go to grandma and grandpa's and it starts to snow.  It snows and snows  and dad says that they can't go in the blizzard.  Harry and Emily are upset since they can't get to grandpa and grandma's to give them their tree and of course Santa doesn't know where they are.  Finally, they decide to decorate the tree in the front yard with cranberries and popcorn.  They have a fun time decorating the tree.  Then they see some deer in the front yard and think that Santa is coming. The next morning Harry and Emily wake up and the snow has stopped.  They ask their dad if they can go to grandma and grandpa's.  Dad says they have to wait for the snowplow.  Harry and Emily look out the window and there are two big packages.  They run out and find that Santa left each of them a gift.  Check out this cute book at the library or your nearest bookstore to find out the ending.  It is a cute book.
