Happy Wednesday Friends!
How are you today? It is kind of dreary outside here today and we had a dusting of snow but it is suppose to warm up a little bit everyday the rest of the week. So just 16 more days till the first day of spring ! I am smiling now because I am really looking forward to spring.
How about you? I am sure if you live in the Northeastern United States you are definitely ready for spring. So it won't be long now , I hope!!!
This week I am sharing some of the American Girl books. I love the dolls and the books. In fact I think most girls age 8 and up would love to have an American Girl doll. I know I would and I am way, way, way, past 8. lol
I am going to give a list of the dolls in order of the year they are from. That way you can decide which book you want to start with.

What would be your favorite period of history? I think I would like to read all of them. So I am starting with Kaya, an Nez Perce girl who lived before America was a country.
Meet Kaya
by
Janet Shaw
In Kaya's time the Nez Perce Indians lived in what is parts of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Now the Nez Perce Indians live in Idaho. Kaya would have been 50 years old before she saw a white man.
Kaya loves horses and especially her Appaloosa Horse named Step's High. She dreams of racing her horse over the countryside with her hair blowing in the wind. When a bothersome boy makes fun of Step's High, Kaya accepts his challenge to race. Kaya is thrilled when she finds herself in the lead until Step's High bucks and almost throws her off. Kaya's defeat isn't as bad as losing her twin brothers in the forest . Her carelessness earns her a terrible nickname.
Will she ever lose the nickname? Will she find her twin brothers? Will she race Step's High again?
This is a great adventure story for a young girl. There are more books too about Kaya. Check them out at this site or your library.
