Happy Friday Friends!

I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend.  I always enjoyed Fridays when I was teaching.  It was my favorite day of the week.  The day I would go home early from school.  Now, I think my favorite day is Sunday.  I enjoy my church time, my meditating time, and my rest.  What is your favorite day of the week?  Share it with us with a post on the blog today. :)

Today I would like to share the book The Three Snow Bears by Jan Brett.

Who hasn't read Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  This  book is off of that but really cute and as you always find in a Jan Brett book beautiful illustrations of the animals of the north.  Before you read  this story to a child you should explain to them what an Inuit is so they will understand what nationality Aloo-ki is in the story.  The story takes place in the land of the Inuit in Canada where Aloo-ki is traveling with her dog sled team when the dogs get trapped on the ice in the water and Aloo-ki cannot reach them.  The three polar bears live by the water in igloos and they have gone for a walk while Little Bear's soup is cooling.  Aloo-ki goes inside and looks around and because she is hungry tries all of the soups and ends up eating all of Little Bear's soup.  Then Aloo-ki goes into the next room and sees three pairs of boots so she tries on all three pairs of boots and of course Little Bear's boots fit just right.  Then Aloo-ki goes into the next room and sees three beds and finally falls asleep in Little Bear's  bed. Then the three polar bears return to their home after they saved Aloo-ki's sled dogs.  I know you know how this story ends so check it out at your nearest library or bookstores. I really think I like this book better than Goldilocks and The Three Bears.  Of course this book has such beautiful illustrations to go with it.  Children will love this book and it would be great to read both stories and have the children compare the stories.

I hope you and your child will enjoy the stories.  Hope you have a great weekend and I will see you back on Monday when I share another Jan Brett book.  Keep reading and share it with a child.
