The Accidental Cheerleader
by
Mimi McCoy
This book is about two friends Sophie and Kylie. Kylie has a wild side while Sophie is thoughtful and shy. They are twelve years old and great friends. Kylie signs them both up for cheerleader tryouts. When the girls go to the tryouts Kylie freezes up and their routine didn't turn out well. When they check to see who made the squad on Monday it is Sophie who is on the squad and Kylie is the mascot a Mule.
Soon Sophie feels torn between her best friend and the cheerleaders. Can Sophie and Kylie remember what it was like to be best friends before they lose each other forever? Read the book to find out. This book would be good for girls from 4th to 6 th grade. It is a really cute book and lessons to be learned too.
The most excellent book of how to be a cheerleader
by
Bob Kiralfy
Did you know that cheerleading is over 100 years old? Did you know that the first cheerleader was a boy? Did you know he cheered the crowd on at the University of Minnesota football game in 1898? Did you know women first became cheerleaders in 1920? This is a great book for young cheerleaders and gives some great advice. Cheerleaders can start from 5 years old (called Peewees) and go all the way up to college age. In the book the author tells about the uniform, the pom-poms, the megaphone, and more. He even tells about how to make some of items cheerleaders need. Cheerleading is great physical exercise too and he tells how to warm -up before you start cheering. I will share on Friday a couple of the things you can make with your little cheerleader that doesn't require much to make them. Check out this book if you have a girl little or bigger who wants to be a cheerleader this year. It is a great book for them to know what they will do as a cheerleader.
