Sixteen Miles to Spring
by
Andrew Pelletier
It is a cold dreary March day and Maddy knows something is about to happen. Soon she and her dad come across Wilbur and Wiley in their truck named Janey. They are traveling north, driving just 16 miles a day. Maddy and her dad meet them on the side of the road. They have stopped to do something awesome. A big wind comes up and it starts raining. "Right on time," Wiley says to Maddy and her dad. Then Maddy and her dad help the strangers scoop up straw, dirt, seeds, and colors of all kinds, and fling the stuff into the blustery air. Then the sun comes out and the world changes.
Check out this lovely book with great illustrations and a great story about spring. Children will love this story and I must admit I really liked it too. Enjoy the first day spring this week with a really cool book.
enjoy the first day of spring on March 20, 2014.
